Alexandre Bornibus was born in 1821 in Verpillières-sur-Ource in Aube. In 1860 he took over a mustard factory located in the Halles district of Paris. Initially named Touaillon et fils, and after was renamed to Bornibus. In a few years, Alexandre Bornibus became one of the kings of mustard in France and became the first and most important mustard maker. Thanks to vintage recipes Bornibus is still on top of the other brands when it comes to the condiments.
