Classic Deli’s Picnic Essentials

Summer has finally started and the occasions to enjoy the sun are also multiplying. The season of picnic with friends and family is ready to begin! But do not worry, Classic Deli got you covered; we have purposely selected the most adapted and delicious products for you to transform those simple reunions into memorable moments.

In making our selection, we focused not only on the flavour of our products but also on their convenience. You will not find any elaborate recipes that need to be prepared in advance, nor products that are too bulky or not heat resistant. Finger foods are undoubtedly a favourite for outdoor activities, being easy to grab and eat.

We are sure you will find what you are looking for in this article, from a picnic in a park to a romantic dinner on the beach, from a backyard garden party to a hike in the forest.

For something salty:

Salted Cashew with Summer Truffle

You can begin to elevate your palate by starting your picnic with some salted cashews with summer truffles. The combination of flavours between the delicate and refined truffle taste and the salty crunch of the cashew will give you a unique result that will leave you hungry for more!

Black Truffle Crisps

A famous essential for every picnic are, of course: crips. However, Classic Deli adds a little more sophistication by offering Plantin’s black truffle crisps. Cooked in a cauldron, in Provence and in a traditional way, we recommend eating them by themselves as they have such an intense aromatic flavour.

Groix Nature Rillettes (Lobster, Salmon, Crab)

Made with natural raw ingredients from the sea including salmon, lobster, and crab; those three rillettes are ideal to enjoy simply on a piece of bread or with some blinis.

The star of the show is the lobster rillette which is cooked from Blue Lobster, considered the finest of the crustaceans. Who said it was impossible to enjoy the delicate and exquisite taste of the lobster while having a picnic? Certainly not us.

For vegetarian spreads, you can opt for one of Plantin’s various options: Carrot and Tomato & Chick Pea spread with Summer Truffles.

Iberico Ham From Juan Pedro Domecq

Whether it is to make easy sandwiches on the go, or eating it alone, this 100% Iberico ham will elevate your picnic. It possesses a soft silky texture and has a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and nutty flavours. The producers, a famous Spanish aristocratic family called Domecq, have been breeding 100% purebred Iberico pigs for over 75 years. From breeding to curing, they control every step of the process, resulting in an exceptional ham.

Godminster Organic Vintage Cheddar

This organic vintage cheddar has been chosen for its beautiful taste and easy cut. Indeed, it is recommended to avoid soft cheese since they are difficult to eat and can become gooey in the heat (even though they are delicious!).

Using only organic pasteurised cow's milk, this real crowd-pleasing family favourite is matured for up to 12 months in the Somerset countryside. Be careful not to eat the protective wax layer; just savour the flavour inside!

For something sweet:

François Doucet Fruit Jellie

Francois Doucet’s jelly fruit is the combination of "Orangeés de Provence" apricots, "Williams des Hautes Alpes" pears, strawberries, and raspberries. In addition to being beautiful, they are also delicious to eat, and perfect for children and adults.

Raspberry and Chocolate Coated Crispy Cereals

We also suggest succumbing to those delicious treats: a crispy and crunchy gluten-free cereal, covered with smooth white chocolate and natural raspberry powder.

For something to drink:

Côtes De Provence Grenache Chateau La Tour De L'Évêque Rose AOC 2019

Red berries, nectarine, and hints of grapefruit combine beautifully in this classic Provence rosé.  The smooth texture, gentle creaminess and vibrant fruit make this a delicious treat on its own.

Organic Cabernet Grape Juice

Do not worry, we have not forgotten the children. Why not try this alcohol-free alternative to wine and champagne for all to enjoy? It combines floral notes like wild roses, wild strawberries, and red fruits with a touch of acidity.  A pleasure!
